Great cabin and great camping. So much fun was has. Beautiful scenery and wildlife caged and free.
Gorgeous small county park. Home to one of the few wooden suspension bridges in the country. There is a small 'zoo' of native animals that are no longer able to survive in the wild for various reasons. They've had black bears, foxes, coyotes, bald eagles and even cougars here and times. There is a old mill dam that makes for some decent fishing, but nothing spectacular. The nature center is first rate with rotating exhibits, meeting rooms, and a small nature library. Two "off the grid" cabins are available for rent year-round. These are modern cabins that use only renewable energy sources, so they do have running water, power, hot water, etc.
I love to make this day trip with my kids. They love seeing the wildlife - bear, fox, bison, turtles, etc. Exploring the river & damn is also really fun! We hit up the Amish stores in the area at the same time. Staying in the off-the-grid cabins here is another fun memory-maker.
This is a great place to bring your children, as they have a nice walk around wildlife display, and a nice interactive nature center for the children to do things in the inside. It also has fishing and a nice park.
Great place to get away and relax. It's clean and quiet for the most part. Nice fishing spots.
